The course is divided into three chapters covering the foundations of alternative assessment methods, specific alternative assessment types, and analyzing and reporting assessment data. Chapter 1 introduces basic concepts and theories of alternative assessment and learning targets. Chapter 2 focuses on performance, affective, portfolio, and rubric-based assessments. Chapter 3 addresses analyzing and communicating assessment results from alternative methods. The course aims to be outcome-based, aligned with standards and guidelines, incorporate 21st century skills, and consider the whole student.
